Opened in 2012 by Element Cinema Group, Light House is one of Dublin's most vibrant cultural spaces with 614 seats across 4 screens including a cafe and subterranean bar built into the framework of an underground car park.
Their excellent presentation and unique programming style has earned them the reputation as one of the best cinemas in Ireland with accolades from the likes of the Guardian Film Awards (Highly Commended Best Cinema) and ARTINFO (Coolest Cinema in the World).
Light House Cinema was reopened by Element Pictures in January 2012. One of Ireland’s leading film production companies, Element also owns and operates a distribution company and Ireland's first independent streaming platform, Volta.ie. Recent hits include This Must Be The Place, The Guard, Room, The Lobster, Frank, The Killing of a Sacred Deer & The Favourite, with lots more to come this year. Check in on their site here to learn about upcoming projects.
Stream or download the best Irish and international independent films. Volta’s extensive catalogue contains lots of films we’ve shown here in the past, and they often have films to rent on the same day as we start showing them here.
